For us, winemaking is a family affair, through and through. Tin House proprietors Susan and Greg Franks participate in every aspect of the winemaking, from vineyard and varietal selection to actual production. Son and award-winning winemaker Alec Franks and his wife Stacy Franks, Tin House's enologist, handcraft each vintage. Together our team makes remarkable wines born of love and dedication, science and intuition.

Our wines creatively capture the unique essence of the  Central Coast of California.  We produce hundreds rather than thousands of cases of wine, a level of care that comes through in our wine.

                     Taster's Notes
2005 Pinot Noir
Produced from the free run of three Dijon clones from the Edna Valley Appellation, the 2005 Tin House Pinot has the classic balance, complexity, and flavors of the region showing cherries, cola, rhubarb pie, pomegranates and spice, with a full-bodied dryness and long, age-worthy finish. This succulent and compelling Pinot Noir pairs extremely with all food, but it pairs especially well with an array of seafood, fowl, and quality veal or lamb. Don’t forget the filet mignon. Or, enjoy it all by itself.

2005 Syrah
The grapes for our 2005 Syrah are from a single vineyard in Edna Valley. The wine shows its cool-climate origins through its rich tannins and balanced acidity.  Serious plum, berry, and black pepper notes add to its appeal on the palate. Its complex finish and texture come from the length of time in the barrel and the quality of the barrels used in the fermentation.
Pinot Noir

Our Edna Valley Pinot Noir comes from a very special place. Just inland from the Big Sur coastline, the Edna Valley's fog-licked canyons produce some of the world's premier pinot noir grapes. But there is also a unique spirit to this part of California that finds its way into our wine.
