For us, winemaking is a family affair, through and through. Tin House proprietors Susan and Greg Franks participate in every aspect of the winemaking process, from vineyard and varietal selection to actual production. Son and award-winning winemaker Alec Franks and his wife Stacy Franks, Tin House's enologist, handcraft each vintage. Together our team makes remarkable wines born of love and dedication, science and intuition.

We like to think our wines creatively capture the unique essence of the lush Central Coast. Each year, we study the attributes of the current harvest and decide how much we will produce of each varietal based on the quality, not the quantity, of the grapes. In the end, we produce hundreds rather than thousands of cases of wine, a level of care we believe comes through in our wine.

Pinot Noir

Our Edna Valley Pinot Noir comes from a very special place. Just inland from the Big Sur coastline, the Edna Valley's fog-licked canyons produce some of the world's premier pinot noir grapes. But there is also a unique spirit to this part of California that finds its way into our wine.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Our Santa Barbara County Cabernet Sauvignon bears witness to unique forces of nature and the patient work of time. Growers have benefited from this ocean-influenced geography for more than two centuries, as the first vines were planted here by Father Junipero Serra in the early days of the founding of California.
Syrah

Our Edna Valley Syrah expresses more than richly mingled aromas and lightly lingering flavors. Each sip holds traces of the earth that supported the vines, the work of the winemaker's hand, and the place from which the fruit came.
